I am using the onboard audio ALC850 on my ASUS A8V Deluxe motherboard and it works great. The driver I am using was in a file called "unisnddr.zip" that I downloaded from the St. Petersburg site on 29 November 2005. The file dates of the uniaud16.sys and uniaud32.sys files are dated 2 August 2005.

Seems to be the case in a post I read somewhere... Which would you recommend? No. The Nvidia drivers are intended for use in Nvidia's "Soundstorm" onboard sound solution. Very few manufacturers implemented this due to cost. You're using the correct drivers, since your mobo uses the RealTek ALC850 chip.

Asus A8N - coax problem
I've had no trouble using uniaud to drive the onboard nForce4 CK804/ALC850 sound chipset combo on the A8N-E, works fine with current/recent uniaud releases. Don't think it has anything to do with MoBo. Uniaud RC1 has bugs in interupt handleling which causes the traps. If you do not see traps with this version,
